Happy April!

Just a few reminders for the month of April:

The recital fee of $30 is due with your April tuition. The annual recital is not mandatory, but it is a wonderful way to end the school year.

Our Spring recital will be the first weekend in June, either June 1,2, or 3rd. I will get back to you on this as soon as the Forman family gets back into town.

There will be lessons without any breaks up until May 10-17. We will be out of town for that week. Lessons will resume the following week at the regularly scheduled times.

In lieu of regular lessons May 25-May 31, we will be having Recital Performance Master Classes on Wednesday May 29 and Thursday, May 30th. The times and groups will be announced closer to the dates.

Dear Parents and Students,

Congratulations! Our studio raised the most money for our annual BCMTA Musicthon! Your hard work and dedication will help many children, through 4Kids of South Florida and through scholarships and programs for our students and teachers in the Broward County Music Teachers Association. I am very proud of all who participated!

A few reminders for March:

1. The Guild Deadline is past. If you did not sign up and want to participate, there will be an additional $15 fee assessed by the Guild for late registrations

2. March tuition is due the first lesson in March

3. FSMTA Student Day will be April 13-14, 2013

Reminders for January

Dear Parents and Students,

Happy New Year! I look forward to seeing each of you at your lessons this week as we jump right into 2013!

Please make note of the few reminders that are listed below:

1. Musicthon is Friday evening, January 25th at 7 PM at the Galleria Mall. All of the forms have been posted and emailed to you. If you didn't get them, please let me know!

2. All monies collected for Musicthon must be brought into your lesson the week of Jan 21-25. I will have your t- shirts for you to wear at our performance at the Galleria.

3. There are no lessons, January 13-18th. Lessons resume January 21.

4. Please read below where I have listed upcoming events and deadlines for the remainder of our school year.

Other classes such as Performance Master Classes, Student Day Help Classes, will be held at times not listed on the schedule. A letter or e-mail will go home regarding these classes. There is no extra fee for these additional classes. You will notice that there are 38 classes listed for the term instead of 35. This is because of travel opportunities that may arise, such as adjudications, conferences, and such. I will let you know about any additional non-lesson weeks as soon as I can.

MUSICTHON 2013

MUSICTHON

JANUARY 25-27, 2013

Musicthon is a Broward County Music Teachers Association Annual Fundraiser for Scholarships as well as other charitable causes.

Dear Parents and Students,

It is time to prepare for our annual fundraiser.  This year’s motto is “Kids playing 4KIDS of South Florida”. This year’s proceeds will benefit all BCMTA activities (summer camp scholarships, programs, student day awards, master classes and competition prizes), and 4KIDS, a non-profit organization“providing hope for kids in crisis”.

Musicthon will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 25, 26 and 27, 2013 at the Galleria Mall, 2414 E. Sunrise Blvd in Fort Lauderdale.  Our performance time is Friday, January 25 from 7-8 pm.

PLEASE NOTE: Each student is required to collect a minimum of $15.00 to play in the event. All money raised is to be collected PRIOR to MUSICTHON. No Money is to be collected, counted or left for pick up at the event. Teachers will mail funds raised along with the Teachers Tally Sheet to the Treasurer NO LATER than Monday JANUARY 28, 2013. Please make sure that all checks are made payable to BCMTA.

T-SHIRTS or Bags FOR PARTICIPATING STUDENTS AND TEACHERS:

Each participant in Musicthon 2013 will receive a commemorative t-shirt or a music tote bag. The bags are the white and blue canvas bags with the music note BCMTA logo.. T-shirts will be a new design on the back and BCMTA logo on front.  T-shirt sizes are the following (include one for each teacher):  Youth S, M, L, and Adult S, M, L, XL.  Please let me know what size your child will need.

Please remember to get these pledge forms out before the holidays so that extended family can support our students’ efforts. Please print out the Sponsor Letter and the Student Pledge Form to give to your students.
