April and May Announcements

Dear Parents and Students,
Congratulations to all students who took the Florida State Music Teachers Association Performance Exams last Saturday and Sunday. All received Honors (90% and above) and were invited to perform in the Saturday, April 25 Honors Recital! More info on that will be sent out early next week.

Some reminders for the months leading up to our end of school year the first week in June:

1. Our Spring Recital will be held on Monday night, May 18 at First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach. I will send out a flyer soon.
*
2. Our 2nd Non-Lesson week will take place Tuesday-Monday, May 5-11. A close family member is having surgery and Mr. P and I will be flying to North Carolina to care for them and their children.
However, I will host Zoom performance classes on select days and times that week. I will send information about those dates and times. With three options to choose from, all students should be able to participate.

3. Registration for the Fall 2026-2027 school year will open June 1, 2026. The deadline for re-registration is July 1, 2026.

4. Congratulations to Ela Coldwell who was accepted into the Florida State University School of Music!

5. Congratulations to Kathrine Pakh and Gabriel Vasilescu on auditioning and being selected to perform in the Chopin Foundation of the United States Young Local Artist Concert, which took place April 11. Please see the photos below!

6. Congratulations Gabriel Vasilescu on winning first place in the Elite International Music Competition. He will be performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City tomorrow!

7. Congratulations to Gabriel also for being selected by audition as an active participant in the New Orleans Piano Institute, which is sponsored by the Musical Arts Society of New Orleans.

Happy Christmas!

Some reminders as we head into the busy holiday season:

1. Student Day Exams will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025.Please click on the Student Day tab to the right of this page for more info.

2. Performance Master Classses for students will be held in lieu of regular lessons the week of December 8-12,   Please see the calendar for the information concering the Boys class date and the Girls class date.

3. Our Christmas Recital will take place on Saturday, December 13 at First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach. 7:00 PM. A recital flyer is under the recitals tab to the right of this page.

4. Musicthon 2026 will be held at the Galleria Mall on Friday, January 23, at 7PM. More info will be coming, but   please be talking to friends and family regarding then purpose of the only fund raiser that Broward County Music Teachers Association has. Funds raised go towards scholarships for students performance opportunities, competitions and teacher enrichment. In addition, we partner with a fellow charity.Please take the time to read about the event by clicking on the tab.

5. December Tuition (#4 of 10) is due by December 10.

May/June News and Information

CONGRATULATIONS to our graduating Senior, DAVID ESPINOSA. He was accepted into University of Miami Frost School of Music on a full scholarship! We cannot wait to follow his story as it unfolds. Our prayers will be with you!

Dear Parents,

As we head into our last week of lessons, I want to remind you of some important dates and other things.
1. This week is our last week of lessons for the 2024-2025 school year
2. June Tuition (#10 of 10) is due by June 10. To avoid the late fee, please remit before June 15.
3. Please return any borrowed materials to the studio.
4. I am attaching the Summer Project for your child's summer practice. Please read it over together.
    and make sure you set aside supervised time for your child's practice.
5. Summer lessons will open next week. Please call if you would like any lessons over the summer. These are outside of annual tuition and payment should be made on the day the lesson is given.
6. Please make wise use of your free time to polish up keyboard skills, review your theory and keep your repertoire performance ready! Take your family to attend some of the many summer musical offerings in our area!
7. I am currently interviewing new students for the fall, and need to know if you are planning to continue lessons, as soon as possible.
