CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
Monday, September 8, 2014 at 03:04PM Congratulation to the winners of our Summer Music Challenge! We had 1 FIRST PLACE WINNER and 3 tied for Honorable Mention!
Students selected a piece of music to study over the summer. They had to learn this on their own. Points were given for note accuracy, rhythmic accuracy, memorization, musicianship, articulation and dynamics.
Points were deducted if I had to help in ANY way. We had 20 students bring their challenge piece to their first lesson back and I was IMPRESSED with how well they all did.
Winning Students will receive their prize at their lessons this week!
Audrey Coldwell - First Place Prize
Honorable Mentions go to:
Jeffrey Drew
Josiah Lane
Esther Albuquerque

Dear Families,
I hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready to jump into the fall semester with renewed energy and enthusiasm! We have said goodbye to graduating seniors and are saying hello to a few new families that are joining us this year. Please take the time to introduce yourselves to one another and welcome them warmly.
Just a few new items to share with you as we begin the school year:
1. In a separate email, you will be receiving the Schedule and Swap List, the Student Login Info and Password and the Studio Calendar of Events (which is subject change)
2. This year we implemented an Activities Fee which was due August 1st. This was initiated to consolidate all registration fees for Guild, Student Day, Federation (1 event), Theory packets (1) and the Spring Recital, based upon your selected Course of Study. The Activities Fee will eliminate (for the most part) the periodic payments and reminders throughout the year, making the administration of our events more efficient and effective.
3. Music Masters Theory Packets will be ordered after the first lesson of the semester. (August 25-28, 2014)
4. For your convenience, we will be offering the option to pay by credit card through Square. If you choose to pay your tuition this way, please come into the lesson 5 minutes before the scheduled end of your child's lesson.
5. I will also be emailing you a link to an important podcast regarding how to be the very best piano parent that you can be. Please make it a priority to listen to it, as it will encourage you and inspire you to pursue music studies for your children, despite their protests from time to time.
6. Please check the announcement page weekly, as Theory class schedules will be posted there, along with any important reminders.
Thank you for entrusting your children to me for their music education. I have often heard it said that in order for music lessons to be successful, there needs to be a triangle of communication and cooperation between the student, teacher and parent. Working together, there are no limitations to what we can achieve.
Musically yours,
Mrs. Purchase

Reminders for June
Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 09:53AM Dear Parents and Students,
Just a few reminders for the month of June:
1. There are NO LESSONS June 3-7. We will have lessons June 10-15
2. Tuition for the month of June is due at that time
3. Re-registration is open and slots are already filling up. The absolute deadline for re-registration is July 1, if space is available. If you are planning to re-register for the fall, now is the time.
4. Carefully read the descriptions for the Courses of Study on the website. The Educational Track is less demanding, The Conservatory Track requires more commitment of time and practice and the Competition Track speaks for itself. When you re-register, please take into consideration the demands on your family in terms of sports, drama, and school.
5. Summer lessons begin on June 24th, but many Tuesdays are already filled. Please contact me to check for available lesson times.
6. This year, an activities fee will be due August 1st. This will include all registrations for Guild, Student Day, Federation, Theory packet and the Spring Recital, based upon your selected Course of Study. Please see the letter below:
